I have the honour to tranmmit to you herewith nopy
of a despatch which I have received 22on Ur.Brudy, H.X.
Consul at Chefoo, relative to the restrictions pleged by
the Chiego Passengers Agt 1656 and the Hongkong ordi-
nance 1880 on the conveyance of Chinone estgrwite under
1889
contract by British steners to foreign countries, Mr.
Brady draws attention to resolutions on the subject
which were passed in November last by the Liverpool
Chamber of Commerce and sent to His Majesty's Secretary
of state for the Colonies.
It would be uneful for my guidance 1o I gould be
infortand what reply was returned by the Sarl of Blgin
to the resolutiona refered to.
